To make your experience the most rewarding, La Unión can organize many volunteering opportunities for you in Antigua and nearby communities. Volunteering is a great opportunity for students to learn about socio-economical issues in Guatemala while making a difference and practicing Spanish in an environment other than the school.
We offer volunteering in the fields of health, education, construction, environment, social work, psychology, agriculture, graphic design and marketing, with children, with adults at risk, with elders and even with animals!
If you are already volunteering with an NGO and wish to improve your Spanish, don’t hesitate to ask us for our special discounts for international volunteers.
SUPERVISION FEE
If you are taking Spanish lessons at La Union, there is NO PARTICIPATING FEE to the volunteer work. For participants who do not study at La Union, a fee of $25 per person is required to cover services such as provision of information, arrangement of volunteer placements, accompaniment to the project on the first day and explanations of how to use local transportation, phone calls, emails and various other administrative costs. The price may be subject to change according to the lenght of stay
